My name is Jeri, I'm married with two children and was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Though my #1 hobby is photography, computer scrapping has become a close second.
My interest in digital scrapbooking started about 5 years ago when I was manipulating some photos with a graphics programs and decided to add some backgrounds to them. I didn't start out a paper scrapper, so this was all a new concept for me. Then I then started looking more into scrapbooking, as I thought the idea of making a memory book would be something that would interest me, but the prices of supplies and getting started were discouraging. So I began to duplicate what I saw paper scrappers doing by using the computer, and printing these pages out. I've been doing this for about 5 years now and I'm still learning new things every day.
My program of choice is Ulead PhotoImpact 8, its inexpensive and very user-friendly. I've written several tutorials for people who are just starting out with computer scrapping, and I enjoy making elements for download as well. Just within the past several months I've branched out my website to include downloadable element sets, and CD's for purchase. I'm finally putting my love for art and drawing to a good use!
My camera of choice is a Nikon D70. I started out with the Nikon Coolpix point-and-shoot models, and was hooked, so when I bought my Digital SLR it had to be a Nikon. I still use my Canon 35 mm Film camera at times, but I prefer the convenience of digital. Most of my photos tend to focus on nature and scenery, and I especially love macro-photography.
Other hobbies of mine include traveling, camping, hiking, drawing, woodworking, going to the beach, painting and reading. My husband is an avid fisherman, so we spend a lot of time on the water.
I love nature and the outdoors, so a lot of my pages focus on the simple things around us as well as our family events. I also like my pages to focus on the photo, so I tend to keep them simple and clean, though I occasionally will add some extra touches such as tags and embellishments. My favorite elements are background papers, you can do so much with them with only a little effort.
