You may have noticed that Scrapbook-Bytes has added Honorary
Design Team Members to our list of contributors to our site!
We have had many ask what is the difference?
- The Honorary Team has been hand selected by Scrapbook-Bytes.
- Each Honorary Team member is already active in our community,
giving them the opportunity to do more with our site, and
work closely with our current team.
- The Honorary Team does not contribute to the Ezine, but
does receive some perks for their volunteered time to Scrapbook-Bytes.
- When Sr. Team Members are needed - we will pick them from
our Honorary Team.
- Each Honorary Team Member is allowed to hold Design Team
positions elsewhere.
- Each Honorary Team Member has specified groups that they
are assigned to - ie: elements design, etc.
- We are still hoping to fill some spots - if you are interested
please contact
us for what spots are still available.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW HONOARARY TEAM! We are still sending out emails for more of our future honorary team.

HOT BYTES
What’s HOT in computer scrapping!
By and © April Anderton
Trends come and go so quickly it's hard to keep up. Here are just a few things that have been popping up on paper and computer generated layouts alike.
Weeds…
Well, not the weeds themselves, but the joy our kids have playing with them! I am, of course, speaking of dandelions. Those fluffy round inviting weeds! Although we hate them in our yards and gardens, we love them in our photos and on our pages. They remind us of our care-free youth! So, go take some photos of your children playing with these fascinating weeds!

Pink and Black
Did you know pink is the new black? Or is it Black is the new pink?? J Either way, if you have been to a mall lately you will know this color combo is HOT for the moment!

by and © April Dye (layout #1) by and © Cheryl Barber (Layouts #2 & #3)
Alphas!
The possibilities are endless with all the alpha sets out there! Rusty, shiny, square, gelly, old, new, natural… the list goes on! Check out just a few layouts with a variety of alpha sets! And look for Maya 's Alpha Doodles at www.scrapbookgraphics.com soon!!

by and © Anna Aspnes (#1) by and © April Anderton (#2) by and © Maya ( Janice Dye-Szucs ) (#3)
WHAT'S NOT:
You all know it by now…NOT SCRAPPING is NOT HOT!! SO GET BUSY!
Remember that even elements that are HOT right now can quickly become cliché if overused, so keep your own personal style shining bright while applying these and other techniques.
Of course, the real judge of what's hot in scrapping is what's happening on YOUR layouts, so get to it!

May's sketch

and the members at Scrapbook-Bytes create
an original, creative layout following the
design of that sketch. At the end of
the month, the Design Team votes for three
winners to be featured here! This month's
sketch belongs to Design Team Member Gina
Cabrera.
The
competition was steep and votes were extremely
close! All the participants did a fantastic
job and we'd like to give all of you a huge
pat on the back!!! Thank you to all
who submitted a layout!
The
winners will receive a voucher to use at our
new online store worth the price of an EZine!
Congratulations!

Title of Layout: Nature's Magic
Your Name: Clara Wallace
SBB Screen Name: CreativeWitch or creativewitch
Program Used: PI XL
Fonts Used: Efflorescence, Hightower and Inkburrow
Techniques and Credits: I really liked the simple sketch we were given to work with and I thought that a more graphic sort of look would work well. I chose a monochromatic theme since the photos had such wonderful greens. The shapes in the sketch were so geometric and I just love that the photos and the daisy are so NOT geometric. The photo colors, images and textures are so pretty...and inspired me to write the haiku for the journaling. I went back and forth on whether or not to make the whole LO with a graphic style or to make it look paper scrapped and kind of compromised by leaving it graphic but adding a frame to draw attention to the hostas. I may go back and do a realistic paper-scrapped version, too. The crisp white and yellow of the daisy adds freshness to the feel of the page.

Title of Layout: Beautiful in your Blue Dress
Your Name: Stacey Mann
SBB Screen Name: SMMann
Program Used: PS CS
Fonts Used: MA Sexy, Black Boys on Mopeds
Techniques and Credits: Blue & green backgrounds from Scrap Dezines CD, stitching from ivonne, vellum flower from DSP. I pieced the backgrounds (colors taken from my daughter's dress) together and "stitched" them like a quilt.
Journaling:
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive
for right; I love thee purely,
as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion
put to use In my old griefs,
and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed
to lose with my lost saints
I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life
and, if God choose, I shall
but love thee better after death.
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning
You look so pure and innocent in this
dress that matches your gorgeous eyes.
It just reminds me how much I love you. -Mommy
