The tutorials should help you choose software, too. All you need to do once you have software is to download a few freebies to play around with, add some of your digital photos and you'll have a page. SBB has some great freebies here. (You get access to even more if you subscribe to the site.)

Note: some software companies offer a 30-day free trial--you might want to check into that.
