I am so new to all of this that I`m not even sure I know what to ask. I visited the chat room for the first time this past WE but I felt that everyone knew each other and were much more advanced then I am. Is there a chat room for beginners? I have been a paper scrapper for years but have been checking out the digital galleries and just love the LO`S. Since we do a lot of camping it would be nice to just carry my laptop and camera and not have to drag totes of things for paper scrapping. I am also new to chat rooms so feel a little intimidated. I do have Photoshop Elements 4.0 and have done one LO but not from scratch and when I tried I had a real problem with layers. cktscrapper

I first want to welcome you to SBB! Chats are a lot to digest for a beginner but once you go to a few you will be hooked!

And... just jump in. You don't have to create a masterpiece, the important thing is to learn and create what YOU like. Take a look at my gallery.. i have kept all my layouts, the good the bad and YES lots of 'ugly'

but I also learned something with each page I did.
Start with knowing the basics of your program (always helpful) and knowing your way around the menu and tools. There are tons of fantastic tutorials here and on the web.

Welcome to SBB! I know exactly how you feel about converting from paper to digi, as I converted after nine years of paper scrapping. I was a "lurker" here at SBB for many months, made my first digi layout at Easter 2005, and hit my first crop here on October 3rd. The tutorials on the site were a huge help when I started, so I would suggest reading both the PSE tutorials as well as the basic Photoshop tutorials. Both will help you to understand your program, and make it more friendly.

We were all newbies at some point, and as soon as you enter the chatroom, just tell them that you are new and may need some help. If you are able to make the late show crop on thursdays, we make simple printable projects that might help you to get the hang of it (perfect for beginners and advanced scrappers). And if you ever need some extra help in PSE, just PM me and we'll get you the answers you need.

I'd love to help you out! If you have Yahoo, MSN, AOL or other chat IM let me know and we can chat and I'll walk you through your first layout. I just posted to someone else wanting ot learn and we could either all chat it through or am considering a free class this week!
