When I first started here in October, one of the DTMs taught me a different method of saving images to post in the gallery, and it has never failed me. (I was a total newbie back then myself).
First, save your psd file. Then resize your image (all three boxes checked) to 7 inches by 7 inches and 72 dpi. This gives you a 504x504 pixel image. Then go "file", "save for web". Adjust the "quality" by moving the slider, until the number below the image on the left is below 125k (usually around 80 for quality but varies from layout to layout). Click "ok", then save it as a JPG into your folder for uploading. It will take you back to your PSD image, and you will want to "un-do" the last step or close the file without saving any additional changes.
I have done both methods for saving files for uploading, and prefer the image quality using the method i listed above. Please let us know if you get this worked out, or send a PM for one-on-one assistance.
