Probably a stupid question....

...about brushes.

I see a lot of Layouts in the gallery that say they use brushes. The pictures are kind of blurred into each other on the edges. Love the look, but have no idea how to even start to use brushes in PI or how to even get to them. Could someone give me a brief overview of brushes or send me to a link that would have a tutorial on them?

TIA

We are unable to use PS/PSP brushes in PI.

Brushes for PSP and PS work sort of like the stamp tool in PI. If you have PSP, PSE or PS, you can make png elements from brushes and then import to PI to convert to a stamp. Here's a tut on how to add images to your stamp gallery:

You can also get the blurred edge effects using the mask tool. Here's a tut that explains a little about how to paint your own mask over a photo:

You can get some cool effects by playing around with different brush and texture settings.

But if you do not have those programs, sadly you are out of luck...
