Cool Should I just throw Ulead in the trash then?

I uninstalled Ulead because number 1 I don't know what all the icons are for, is there somewhere I can go to find the names of all these cions and how to find each thing. When a tutorial calls for a certain tool I don't know whicah one it is!
I also got short of patience when I clicked on a image Ulead had to be the default viewer and Internet Explorer viewer is faster. Is there a way to tell Ulead I don't want him butting in? Don't calll us we'll call you sort of thing?
New to this baord I forgot to tell ya! Hi! My name is Becky and I am an old dog and it is hard for me to learn new tricks....

Now where do I go to fix that typo in my signature! Yikes!

I've never used Ulead but know people who do and they like it and are getting good results.

Question: Did you get a manual? If not there may be a manual on the CD or in the program that is printable and will help.

Also have you checked their web site www.ulead.com . Additionally they do have a forum for each of their products where you can probably get help.

I have used PhotoImpact for over one year. It was the only program I actually understood! I also use the accompanying PhotoExplorer program for my photos.

If you have any specific question, please ask here and it will be my pleasure to try and respond!

In the mean time, when I have some free time, I will conduct some beginning classes on PI in the chatroom. Since these take some time, I am not sure when I'll have lessons completed...

Hope I can help. I love this program to bits!

Now that you have found the manual you need to print it in sections or rather the sections you need.

I've never seen the manual so I suggest you skim through the manual. Some will have a section on tools, keyboard shortcuts, etc. If you find that then just print that out. If not then look at the chapters and print out just the chapter that deals with the tools and icons.

That should get you started and you can always go back into the manual and read a section on a particular subject. I don't know if your local bookstore will have any books, i.e. the ...For Dummies" series that covers PI. I know they have them for Photoshop.

Becky, noooooooooooo! Don't toss PhotoImpact! There are some good tutorials in the FAQ section of the PIRC Beginners Workshop Check out "Where is it in PI 7". If you have a more recent version than that, most of the tools are in the same place. And if you want to go more in depth, sign up for the whole workshop, it's FREE and an excellent overview of how to edit images, create new images, and create a basic web page using PI. I just finished it, and loved it.

Oh yes - of course! I did the beginners' workshop last year. Immediately my confidence improved and I became an expert in almost no time!

Check it out, it might be exactly what you need!
