Question Need Help with Sizing and Printing

I have a question about printing from PI. I have been trying to print a digital photo to photo size 5x7. Every time I try to resize it and keep the aspect ratio, it doesn't work. The aspect ratio is definately off. To keep the aspect it sizes at 6.5x7.

How would I print things in various sizes keeping the aspect ratio of my photos?

Hope I haven't been to general here!

TIA
Martha

You said you are resizing it...what is the original size of the photo?
As long as you have Keep Aspect Ratio checked, the photo will keep the same ratio of width vs height, it may be that you need to trim a bit off the sides to get a true 5x7.
This is the same with any program, not all sizes of photos will make an accurate 5x7 (or 8x10) etc...it depends on the size of the original photo, some are too wide or too tall and the photo needs to be adjusted.
Hope this made sense, I can't really tell you much without knowing the size of the original photo you are trying to resize.

i have been trying the 5x7 size too now - and found out when priting that it was printed out too small. I have resized up too 2200 pixels - keeping the ratio - (2100 is 7 inch).
When I print it out now I only have to cut of those "hated" white corners the printer always makes.

When I work in PI with the intent to print, I change my unit of measure to inches in my preferences (File > Preferences > General). I open a canvas the size of a full piece of paper at my desired resolution, which is normally 300. When I want to resize a photo or objects as I'm doing my layout, I go to Format > Image size and resize using inches as my unit of measure there as well. This makes it much easier to get photo prints in the sizes I want and to create paper craft projects.
