Aaack! I need help!

Let's see if I can explain this...I did a layout...actually two, cause I couldtn' decide what one to use....but I did it for some reason 100 dpi instead of 300. I have no idea why I didn't check it first. anyway, Is there any way to change it now that the layout is merged....and saved? There is a spot in PhotoImpact under format and then resolution where it seems like you can change it. Is that going to be the same as if I did it originally 300 dpi? Or do I have to do it all over again?

Hate to tell ya'- you have to do it over again. I know how maddening and frustrating this is - I have done it a few times myself! You can decrease, not increase.

Well.. not exactly true. If you go and resize the layout down.. you will automatically gain resolution. If you resample as well.. it might be worth trying. Give it a go and let us know how it comes out.

Thanks ladies, I am doing a small 6 x 8 layout, so to resize it would make it just too small. I have already started it again, but of course, I can not get it like the first one, which i really was pleased with of course....Uugh!

Does Photo Impact support some sort of Macro ability? What I would suggest for the future is to create macro's for your common used sizes.

For example my pages are 7.5 X 10 X 300 DPI So all I do every time I want to Scrap a page is hit control F3 and there it is no worries about making sure I am set up correctly. I also have a few other sizes for other repeatable projects I do. Saves me time and heartache, maybe it could you to if Photo Impact supports some sort of scripting or macro's like Photoshops actions.

Sorry to hear about you rework and good luck!

Depending on how crisp you really need it to be (it depends a lot on your elements), you could possibly just reinsert the photos at a higher resolution. If you have really inticate elemnts, that won't work.

Actually...I believe that you CAN change the resolution without changing the size. I just tried it out on one my my layouts, and was able to change it from 300dpi to 600dpi and the actual layout dimensions did NOT change. You go to Adjust: Resolution: pick the resolution you want and then save it as a new image.

I brought the 600dpi image back into PI to double check that it was set to 600dpi, and indeed, it is As far as printing goes, I'm hoping it will be as high res. as it says it is

Well.. let us know if you get better results but I don't think you will.. Sure - the software will let you do it.. but the results will not be what you expect.
