I can't figure out....

(See if I can explain what I am trying to ask...LOL)

I have seen pages where people have used a letter or two...sometimes a whole word spelled out.....but they use what looks like a stencil. A rectangular "paper" with the Letter punched out of the middle. I can not figure out any easy way to do it though. Anyone have any tips....Or any place where they have them free to download? LOL

TIA

This is actually very easy in PhotoImpact since you can use the menu option that changes a letter into a selection. After typing the letter, change it from 2D to selection. Select the rectangle you want to cut the letter from and position it under the letter selection [it is a blue dotted line]. The press delete and hey presto the letter is gone - seemingly cut out of the rectangle!
