Welcome to my forum challenge. I hope you will join me this week to learn something new!

This week I want focus on Virtual Photographer. This is a plug in that I use all the time. It is free for all of you, and I’d like you to experiment with photos AND the tutorial I have found for you!!! VP has over 50 presets that give you oodles of effects….and will save you hours & hours of photo editing!!

Link for Free Download for Virtual Photographer:
http://www.optikvervelabs.com/

Now for the Mac gals!!! I understand VP doesn't include a Mac version, so try this one:

Here is the tutorial for your “homework”: Virtual Photography Plug In
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_601.shtml

Here are the guidelines:
1. Choose a photo and some elements.
2. View & practice the tutorial listed above with both photos and elements.
3. You may post just the photo/elements or use them in a layout.
4. Post here: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle....php?cat=12489
5. Come back and link us up, so we can leave you some love for your efforts!! Don’t forget to tell us what program you are using.
6. I will PM you “Spring Whimsey” 8x8 Quick Page for playing along.
7. Have fun!

I love VP and used it alot when I was on a PC. Sadly I can't use it on the MAC - although I have been checking the site regularly to see if they've come up with a MAC friendly version yet. Would it be OK if I went back to some old photo for this challenge? I really hate being left out of anything? - hehehe

Me too - I'm on a Mac, so I can't use this. So sad.

I had issues and couldn't get it to work on my desktop, but redownloaded it to try it on my laptop. I looks super cool. I just need to figure out how to install it right. Great new challenge!

This RAWKS!!! I got it installed right this time and am having a total blast. I don't have a lot of photos on my laptop but I'm sure I will now. Thanks so much!

Edited again to include link to gallery. Here & layout here.

I do have a question regarding the elements. Is there a way to set it up so after the action is complete you don't have to do an extraction on the element? It changed the background from transparent to white. Any ideas?

Oh I'm so sorry for you Mac gals! I had no idea!!! Might have to find another tut for you!

Now about downloading..... for some mystical reason, some plug ins night not like your computer. It is well known but unsolved as to why. I dl'd Graphics Plus onto my desktop..and it was fine, but the very same one caused photoshop to crash in my laptop! I had to re-install it, but it did it again! so I re-read my notes from my online class and guess what? This was the first thing we were warned about!! HOWEVER I haven't had any problems with VP.

ok! I think I found a solution! I checked back through my notes for the filter course I took online & found a filter for you Mac Gals! This one has 69 filters, is free, and although it is a little more "artsy" than VP, I think you might enjoy playing with it! I'll put a couple of examples in the gallery for you!!! Whoohoo!

To Carjazi and other who might have missed this: "Simply select your element by holding down the Ctrl key and left clicking the element’s layer. You should have marching ants around your elements." This makes sure you don't have to extract anything after the filter does its work!!
