Try Something New March week 1

“Try Something New” week 1 Mar 4-10/08
__________________________________________________ ________________________________
Welcome to my forum challenge. I hope you will join me this week to learn something new! SBB has the best tutorials anywhere.

This week I want to make Easter stickers or stencils ….so here is a good dingbat font to try with the tutorial: http://www.dafont.com/easter-art.font

Here are the tutorials for your “homework”:

Photoshop/Photoshop Elements: TECHNIQUE: Stencilling
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_199.shtml

PSP: ELEMENT: Making Stickers
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_713.shtml

Here are the guidelines:
1. View & practice the tutorial listed above for your program.
2. Create your stickers or stencil. Don’t forget to save!
3. Use your new elements in a layout.
4. Post here: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle....php?cat=12489
5. Come back and link us up, so we can leave you some love for your efforts!! Don’t forget to tell us what program you are using.
6. I will PM you a little Easter mini kit for playing along.
7. Have fun!

Ok, I've downloaded dingbat and printed instructions. Can't wait to get to it.
You are so good to scour the tuts and bring them to our attention. I am kind of
too lazy (or don't take the time) to do it myself.
Thank You

Well to tell the truth....I love learning new things, and in this week's tut I learned a valuable new trick for coloring shapes! I can't believe how much time I wasted coloring & erasing!! That's the beauty of tuts!! The little tricks are as much fun as the main tutorial!!

Quick question, the tut is for stencils. How do you turn them into stickers? It's cool to learn something new, thanks!

Make your stencils, then check out this tut http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...icle_713.shtml and I'm sure you can figure out how to use the same tools in PSE/PS to get the sticker effects. Okay?

After finishing the stencil, I had a hard time deciding how to get it into a LO. By the time I finished, you could barely notice it - so I put the LO in a different challenge and will try again.

You can see it here -

Thanks for this challenge and tutorial, I had a great time learning it although I got a little side tracked and so my stencils don't really look like stencils as I added a glitter overlay. Still it is a great way to make elements and I think I will be using it more in the future.

I'm on time for this one, and thanks again!
