Looking for Disney elements

Ok - I've read through a thread posted a couple years back about Disney being super strick with copywrite infridgement but I was on Ebay and looking up digital kits and found someone on there that is selling tons of Disney kits --- Does anyone know how they are doing this OR where I can find the elements - I would love to do a Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast Kit for myself and to S4H out.

The username on E-bay is hshart and hangupsframing if you wanted to look...

TIA!

Some people choose to ignore copyright protection, which is really sad. If you personally want to create layouts for others using these elements, you would need written permission from Disney stating what you are allowed to use, and how you are allowed to use it. To put it one way, it is better to be safe than sorry when you do this as a business.

I'd email the Ebay person and ask if they have copy approval. Would be interesting to see what they say. I would think if it is illegal, Ebay wouldn't allow it to be placed up for sale. When they get wind of copywrited stuff, such as illegal copies of Photoshop and that type of thing....they pull the listings. They of course don't catch everything that is listed, so who knows.. (just took a quick peak at the user....impressive stuff...and a lot of it...and variety...not just Disney....wow..looks like the stuff you can buy for real paper scrapbooking....makes you wonder if Disney has figured out what digi scraping is and has given the rights for digital)

Don't know what you are looking for, but if you surf the offical Disney site there is clip art, wallpaper and a few other items that they have to download for personnel use. They have some printable letter paper, that you could print and scan back in to use for background. Again, it might not be anything you are interested in, but just thought I'd mention it.

Older post, I know but no, this person (and all the others) do not have permission to use Disney stuff in their items. If you read down, they even go so far as to claim copyright. I emailed two of them through ebay a while ago asking for proof that they obtained a license. One never got back to me and the other pretty much blew it off like she was doing nothing wrong. When you've got a license to use a brand like that, most, if not all, require that you post a logo or some copyright credits on whatever you're selling. Disney's requirements to become a licensed merchant is long and hard and there's a business proposal process you have to go through. They are very strict and don't let someone sell products using their name just because they ask nice.

Copyright protection violations is rampant on ebay. It's sad because I had an item up that was vero'd and I wasn't doing anything illegal at all. It was resolved and I was able to resell what I had up but it ticks me off to no end. One of the sellers is even a power seller, so she's not only getting away with it, she's making more than pocket change. I reported her auctions but ebay never removed them.

Glenda Ketcham at Digital Scrapbook Pages does some "off Disney" Disney kits which are pretty nice and useful for this sort of thing. They feel a lot like Disney, but I haven't seen anything that actually infringes on copyright. Hers are "The Most Wonderful Place on Earth" series.
