Anyone have any experience with Western Digital drives, in particular this one. I can get it locally pretty cheap per GB compared to many of the other external harddrives so I'm wondering if there is a catch

Hi Anna, I haven't heard of that particular brand but I read through the specs and it sounds very similar to mine (mine is a Lacie). All I know is that the extra 250g sure comes in handy - good luck with it, Lisa.

I only buy Western digital drives. I have had bad experience with a couple of other brands within 6 months. I have my portable 60gig for about 3 years now and have dropped it multiple times between home and work. I have 2 - 500gig that are about 2 years old. I just bought the terrabyte one so I'm hoping to be just as happy with that one.
