Brushes with Falling Into Place CD

I bought the Falling into Place CD, which I absolutely love. So many beautiful things in it. I was thrilled to see brushes included; however, when I went to use them in Photoshop Elements 2, only 2 of the many brushes worked. I've downloaded others from Adobe and they work great as long as they are created in PS7 or lower. Are the ones on the CD made in CS so they aren't compatible with PSE2??? They are so beautiful, I wanted to use them so badly

I have to admit that I hadn't tried to use the brushes yet in PSE2 and here's what I found.

The following files are NOT compatible with PSE2:
AMY-SBB-FALL04.abr
Beleaf it or Not-Anna Aspnes.abr
Beleaves More-Anna Aspnes.abr
Spooky Spooks-Anna Aspnes.abr
kristie-brush-set-sbb-fall-cd.abr
FallBrushSet_Laurasv.abr
leaf_brush_tanya_toddkrasen.abr

So basically just April's brushes work for PSE2. I wonder if PS CS brushes will work in PSE3. That could be my big push to upgrade.

The brushes also don't work wit PSP.
Although some .abr brushes work, the new .abr files for some reason are not compatible either. Learned that the hard way after downloading a ton from the net..oh well!!
The only solution I have found is to open the brush in PS and 'stamp it' onto a transparent background and save as a png. Then in PSP open the .png and create a brush with it. I have done that with items I have scanned and it isn't really too hard to do.

PSE3 & Brushes

Thanks Stacy for mapping out the brushes that didn't work. I'm glad it wasn't just me and my ol' PC that was having problems. I've already pre-ordered PSE3 but it won't arrive until mid-October. Amazon.com is having a great deal where if you pre-order, they provide a $25 rebate and Adobe includes a $20 rebate in the box, bringing the price down to about $50 for PSE3. Might want to check it out.

Anxious to see what the answer is about the brushes created in CS! Thanks ladies.

Could be b/c of PS CS. Brushes made in PS CS won't work in other versions of photoshop so that might apply to PSE also. But brushes made with other versions of PS work in PS CS. I know, weird, huh. Not sure on the new PSE, might be something to look into. -Ali
