Converting MS Word files

I found some great background "paper" at the http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/index.jsp web site. (Click on craft projects and then on pattern paper.) However, they download as MS Word documents.

Does anybody know how to convert Word documents to a file format that graphics programs recognize/accept? I've got to be able to use these great freebies!!

After you've opened the document in Word, click on the paper and "copy" it.
Paste it as a new document (or whatever) in your image program.

they are great aren't they?! i spent a day there once. i haven't converted yet, but i may just copy and paste into one ps file, each on a layer. then just browse through those instead of having tons of separate files. but i do it the same way, copy and paste. Ü

I tried the copy and paste idea earlier and couldn't get it to work. I tried pasting to DIP. Maybe I'll try copying to a different graphics program.

Okay, I tried the copy and paste idea and this time it worked. (Is it because you guys suggested it that it works now!?)

However, there is one issue that may or may not have a solution. In Word the picture is 12x12. When I copy and paste into DIP it is cropped to 8.5x11. Why is this happening?!

Thanks!
Kristi
