Delima???

I have been trying to figure out how to make certain elements.

I cannot remember them all right now, but one come to mind.

A BOW. How do I make a realistic looking bow. I have seen it done, I think, unless someone actually scanned it.

I have tried looking for tutorials and even tried playing around on my own with PS, but to no avail......HELP

I can make a very simple, drawn bow, that is rather thin, and looks like a shoelace. But what I want is a wide bow.

Any ***istance would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

i've seen some great scanned ones in the gallery. if you can make a wide ribbon, it would just be a lot of editing. make the curved front, then flip it and darken it for a curved back. for each side then do the legs down with different curves (i use a slight jiggle) put wrinkles on the knot. it's tough! i'd just stare at a scanned one until it hits you or something!! Ü or just scan one. i'm the biggest non-scanner type. but then as dh says, who cares if it looks better scanned. isn't the finished page what's important? and yeah, i guess so. i just like trying it myself! no idea if that helped!! Talking well....

it may have. Hard to believe, but true...hehe.

Just kidding, I love messing with you.

You are so much fun and you have a great sense of humour.

Anyways, I will try making a single ribbon layer ribbon and distorting, etc and see what I can come up with.

That is all I needed was a starting point, cause all my ideas where useless.

I like making my own too. Prefer not to scan, unless I absolutely have too.

I thought

I could make a straight, flat ribbon and distort it to wrap or become curved, but I can't....ugh.

There has got to be an easier way; besides scanning.

I have tried wavy filters, liquify (which was 'okay' but not enough) and other filtering.

I cannot draw a good enough arch to the ribbon myself, so was hoping there was way to manipulate the image.

Oh well, I guess I will figure it out eventually.

i use the eye candy jiggle filter for slight curves. and really jiggly curves too, like for making a straight line into fiber. or the distort, wave filter in ps. then play and play until i get the settings right. then if you get a good curve but the rest is bad, you could just cut out the good area. make sense? and thanks. you MUST have a sense of humor if you live my life!!
