Kimberly G. was teaching Darcy, sort of her understudy. Darcy has a few fonts showing and they look great, so I would guess she is qualified to make the fonts.
I also know of a several other font sites that can make your handwriting into a font:
The Font Garden, however, it is much more expensive than Darcy & Terry, in fact it is $199! There are a couple others in this expensive range as well,
Fontshop, a mere $179 and
Font God at $75.95.

There is a more reasonably priced company
Quantum Enterprises, starts at $16.11 (It's a UK site, so the prices are in English pounds)
At the
Fontifier you can get your handwriting for only $9! This site is actually recommended by numerous other sites.
I also found a good tutorial,
My First Font, for making your own first font. It provides links to some font creator programs, including one with a fully functional 30 trial! The tutorial estimates one hour to make your first font. I'm thinking of giving it a try!
Quote:
FontCreator from High-Logic. FontCreator is fully functional for 30 days and costs $79.00 for the Home Edition and $149.00 for the Professional Edition.
Other font editors that can be used to make your own handwriting font are ScanFont and Fontographer from Pyrus. ScanFont costs $199.00 and has a demo, that produces crippled fonts. Fontographer has no demo and hasn't been updated for almost a decade. However you can still buy it for $349.00.
