Using photoshop .atn in DIP???

Hello, everyone! I've been diligently doing the tuts and am almost ready to share a mini kit but wanted to ask a question to all those DIP pros. I saw you can use photoshop brushes (.abr) in DIP, but do any of you know how to use the .atn items in DIP? Atomic Cupcake has an alphabet chip board action for free for photoshop & elements, and I know there must be a way to incorporate it into DIP. This would make life so-ooo much easier for so many! Anyone up to the challenge or are already so far ahead of me that they already know how to do this? Of course, that would be the majority of you!

Thanks!
Hope

You can't use actions in DIP. I don't have any atn files to try out but I'm not even sure they could be converted to a png file.

.acn files in DIP

Kim,

Thanks so replying so quickly! I also posted this question to the Microsoft Discussion group so forgive if you see it again...I didn't know you were there as well...but of course I am so-ooo glad I found your site and will enjoy doing the tuts!

From what I understand, Photoshop actions = Photoshop Elements effects = PSP scripts...so, I thought perhaps DIP would have some sort of way to allow users to combine many monotenous steps into one function to save time. Atomic Cupcake has a freebie .acn file for making chipboard alphas. It's really great, but I don't have PS! I suppose I could figure it out in PSP, but I'm such a dunce when it comes to that program. I really feel more comfortable with DIP.

So, is my explanation above about as clear as mud? If this is something not offered by DIP 9, is it offered in the newer versions? Also, I have version 9 but couldn't seem to be able to find where I could simply download an update or newer version. I'm not so sure I could afford or justify the 2006 Plus, but I'm sure I could afford an updated version. Also, since you seem to be the DIP Diva (LOL!) could you tell me the improvements Microsoft made with the newer version? Have you tried PSP or PS/E and if so, do you like DIP better & why?

Well, I'm off to try and figure out how to download .8bf filters. Thanks for the info on your site, here at SBB and in the Discussion group for DIP. I'm pretty sure I should be able to figure it out with your instructions, but just in case I have an issue...may I consult you for help?

Thanks,
Hope

Red face

Hey Hope,
This is the first time I've entered a forum or anything. But I am asking the same thing, as the other day I found a web site where you can download heaps of atn. files for free, I have abode photoshop elements 2 ( can not afford any other) and i could not work it in there either. I'm no computer whizz!!

Unfortunately ther si no way for actions/scripts to work in any current version of DIP . But check out the tutorials for creating chipboard letters etc in DIP here http://scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-scrip...icle_382.shtml and here http://scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-scrip...icle_381.shtml and in the forum is a way to use patterned paper to create a chip board alpha
Dip doenst offer upgrades - only new versions - currently the newest are Digital Image Suite 2006, Digital Image Standard and Digital Image Suite Plus - The plus version incorporates video editing. - the standard version is too basic. There are quite a few gains between 9 and 2006 but nothing hugely earthshattering
There is a review/comparision here: http://scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-scrip...icle_333.shtml - you can also search rthrough this DIP forum for other info on the newest versions
All of teh programs are slightly different and offer slight diffferent features. Downloading the trial versions are a way to see what you prefer. I am a DIP user but I am now also dabbling in PSCS2 for teh small things that DIP cant do.
