Hi!

After you download a font, where does it goes, and how do I get it, and use it in your layout.

I download a few fonts, but can find them; therefore, cannot use them in MS.

Thanks
sherikia

Hi sherikia (do you mind when people call you Sher? I'm a lazy typer! )

Ok...when you download something does a window pop up? Do any portions of the window have a drop down menu or fill in bar? Generally you get to pick where files go when you download...you just have to know how. I create a folder on my harddrive I call "downloaded fonts". You, of course, can call yours whatever you want. You can put that folder directly under your c: directory...or in your "my documents" section...or whereever you'll know where to find it. Then, whenever I download fonts I make sure that folder is selected. That way I can always find them. Remember...the only fonts that are immediately useable are the ones in the "fonts" directory under the "windows" folder of your "program files" directory. But you can just copy or move the fonts from your downloaded folder into that folder when you want to use them. I also have a font manager program (the font thing...free on the internet) to help me manage my hundreds of fonts.

let me know if none of this makes sense and I'll try to write up a better explaination.

Also, you can search your harddrive for the fonts you downloaded previously if you know their names. Or you could just search for all .ttf files (or .zip files if that was teh format).

I hope this helps!

Suzanne

Just make sure you don't put too many fonts (over 500) in your windows font folder or it slows down your computer. That's why it's good to have a separate "fonts folder"
