I only have 433 fonts installed so I don't think I need to worry about too many fonts just yet. Out of curiousity, I just installed The Font Thing- but what exactly is it used for? I understand that you can organize your fonts by catergory and view whole sentences- but how do you pull it up when you are working on a layout. And- doesn't it work pretty much the same when you just click on the "add text" and the font list is available right there to see? I guess I don't understand what the features are and why I would need it. I downloaded it anyways- LOL!

Yep, I was wondering the same thing as Sherry. What exactly do I do with it? Can I pull it up at the same time I'm using my program? I use Picture It version 10. How do I get the font from TFT into PI?

It is really just a way to organize, install/uninstall and view your fonts. I use it to view different collections since I have mine organized by site or to keep commercial fonts seperate from non-commercial use fonts. Lots of different ways it can be used.

Wink Font mgr X Fonter

One of the better programs I use to manage fornt is Xfonter (free) lets you stash all the 'extra' fonts in a separate & can show ypu the uniinstalled fonts within..havent used mine in some time but if memory serves me right you can install or uninstall fonts also there are SOOOOO many really good font managers out there just google ...font managers & sit back for the oodles that show up...Oh yes another place for some really good programs is ...sourceforge.org EVERYTHING is free there ...well most (95%) a bit of work to get to what you're looking for but well worth it I even have the name ofa couple good ding mgrs if anyone is interested

I've got 601 installed and 816 unistalled. Plus have a bush folder full I haven't unziped yet. All works well with the Font Thing. The tab across the left side lets you look at the installed ones and my browse tab is set up to view where the uninstalled ones are.
