? re: naming files for submission

I got the "rules" for submitting but I still have a silly question.

Do I *have* to name the files "elements"? I have an alphabet in a couple of the kits I made--can I name them alpha1, alpha2, and the tags/ribbons etc "elements"? I know that's silly, but I just wanna get it right.

No, I think elements was just an example of a file name. Just go with files names that are meaningful to people.

HTH!

A plea--not sure if this is in the rules or not (no way I can submit anything!) but please please please put your name in the file name for each and every element. I spend many hours trying to organise my files and I do my very hardest to get everybody's name because, of course, I want to give you credit when I use your stuff. Often I "break" kits up, either not downloading everything or separating it and it is hard when I have to rename everything too just to make sure that you are properly credited.

Yep, it's in the rules that you need to include your first and last name in the file name. I know that some of the old elements do not meet these standards and there are probably a few new files that slip in too.

Yes, I've had a few lately that only had the designers name on the folder. None of the elements had a name on them. There's nothing worse than an alphabet named only A, B, C etc.

Well I'm glad to hear that's how people like them! Because I put my first/last name on the file and each and every element. It looks like overkill on the screen--but I know I like to see the name of the designer without having to flip back to the original file. I just need to finish up the sample and write a "read me" doc and I'll finally have these ready for submission!

I was wondering the same thing. I've created two awesome kits: the Cappucino and Cucumber Melon kits, and I have distinct names for all of the images. If I have to change them all to generic file names, the kit themes would be ruined! It's good to know that some people agree.
