ISO realistic BOWS and torn papers!

I have downloaded a lot of stuff but what I'm really lackin in are 2 of my fav elements! BOWS and torn papers. I'm horrible and making my own torn pages and not a clue on making the bows. I've just had to make do with changing colors all the time but I want some new designs! Can anyone recommend a link to download these things? I'm also looking for some word art I've seen used in layouts where there's just a colored dot border in a circle with a word in the middle.

Thanks
Laura

Ribbons and bows

I'm in the same boat. I can't figure out how to create ribbons and bows. Can anyone offer some assistance on creating these? I use Microsoft Picture It, but am currently evaluating PhotoShop Elements 3.0 and Print Shop Pro 9.

Thanks a bunch,
Kay

Most of the bows that you see are scanned in. Some people do create them digitally, but those people are few and far between.

As for the torn paper the way I do it is I start with a rectangle of the paper I want to tear. I use the lasso to make a jagged line along the edge. I then delete the selection that I just made. Then I just use the smudge tool to get the results that I want. It takes a little playing with but I really like the results.

Try looking in the royalty free stock photos and finding a ribbon that you can clean up in PSP9 really well with the background eraser and adjusting the selection and feathering.
I have found a few that way...forget what sites however...sorry!!

look in the free section of the gallery for torn edges by steph730... i use them all the time.

lyndsay riches has alot of bows (like the kind on presents) and she sells in the store here or even may have some in the free gallery.

pm me if you have trouble finding these.
