If you open DIP and click on "Help" it states:
Note: Products made with the Microsoft Digital Image Pro Software that includes any copyrighted material or trademarks may not be sold or distributed for resale.
If you click on Licence Info, in part it says:
- You may only utilize the Media Elements for personal noncommercial uses. For example, You may include the Media Elements in personal greeting cards, banners, letters and the like intended for family members or friends.
- You are not licensed to do any of the following:
- The Media Elements have not been cleared or approved for use as trademarks or logos in conjunction with any companies' products or services. Any use as a trademark or logo would constitute a commercial use and is prohibited by this EULA.
- You may not sell, license or distribute copies of the Media Elements, for value, on a stand-alone basis or as part of any collection, product or service where the primary value of the product or service are the Media Elements. For example, You may not use the Media Elements in order to create a greeting card that is sold or otherwise transferred to another for value.
My take on it is if you are incorporating something from DIP into an element you are NOT MAKING MONEY on then it is okay to use them.
If you intend to SELL your work then it would definitely be a NO-NO.
