Downloading/installing Virtual Photographer

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the main Virtual Photographer plugin/filter several months ago. I cannot remember what steps I took, but it has always worked fine. At the time, I was using DIP9 and I had put VP in my plugin folder that I had created in My Documents.

I am now using PSCS and even though I don't remember placing VP in my c:\program files\Adobe\PS\Plugin folder, they showed up in PSCS when I installed it (did PSCS just search for any plugins/filters I had and then just "get" them upon installation??).

Anyway, I would like to download the extra 12 sets that are available for VP. In addition to my "C" drive, I also now have a new "G" drive for my scrapping stuff.

I downloaded all 12 extra VP sets to my desktop. I'm unsure what to do next.

I have the folder called C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plugins\Plugins & Filters\optikVerveLabs. (should there be that extra "plugins&filters" folder there???). I also have a separate plugin folder in my "G" drive called g:\Storage Andrea\Plugins & Filters\Optikvervelabs.

If I right-click on each icon on my desktop, what option do I choose and where do I put these sets? Do I lump them into one set or keep them in 12 separate sets? Once I put them somewhere, do I then have to "install" them?

Downloading and installing filters/plugins has always been confusing to me.

I'm a little confused as to what happened, but in general, plugins must be saved in the Adobe plugins system folder, not in a "remote" folder like all the other presets. Subfolders are fine. Just put all your new add ins in that same subfolder. Reopen PS and they'll show up

OK - I got all of the subsets into my Adobe PS plugins folder.

Now I'm wondering:

I know that to use these subsets when VP is running, I need to click "load" then click on the subset/filter I want and it will run it. However, is there anyway to save these subsets in the Presets drop-down menu so that they show up and are included with all of the default presets, so as to avoid constantly loading these subset filters one by one to see the effects? This may sound stupid, but is that what the "Save" button is for, next to "Load"? If I hit Save, will it then be included with the default presets?
