Help with the toille brush

Hello! I am a new member so this will probably seem like a silly question but I love the toile brush in the shop and downloaded it but cannot get it to work with my photoshop elements 2. I have never used a brush so I am sure I am doing it wrong. I downloaded it into the brush folder as it is listed but there is an asterisk mark next to the word toile? Anyway, I have the only book that I posess until my new one comes next week and it is not much help. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

Lisa

Hmmm...I have never seen this with an asterisk...I wonder if the brush was created in PS CS and therefore not compatible with PSE2. PS CS brushes ONLY work in PS CS and PSE3. PS 7 brushes work in PSE2 and higher versions.

What happens when you try to use it? On mine when I load incompatible brushes, just nothing shows up. No error, no new brush, just nothing.

If it's Dianne's toile brush from the SBB store, she made them in PSE2. And she includes 3 versions of the brush, so that it works for everyone. Make sure you have unzipped them and that you are installing the .abr version. The .psd and the .png you shouldn't even need.
