Ready to become a designer-where do I start?

Okay so I have been scapping for a while and am ready to make my own kits, I think, LOL! What I would like to know is....how do you get started? I realize I can sell my stuff on my blog, my own site or or on great places like here but here are my questions?

1. What is a creative team?
2. Do I need one?
3. How do you put together a great creative team?
4. How much does the creative team make?
5. Do sites like Scrapbook-bytes accept just any designer? Are some sites picky about their designers and who they choose?

So confused , please help!

I can try to answer a few for you...

1. A creative team is a group who use your designs and post to galleries all over the net to help get your name and designs out there- visible.

2. I would say yes, you need one. With so so so many deigners out there, you need all the promotion you can get to compete. You have to be as visible as possible.

3. You would post here, with P4D and DigiShopTalk and place a CT Call with all of them. SBB and DST utilize their boards that are large resourses and folks looking to be on a good designer's team will look there for your ad. Same with p4d except your message is posting to a massive mailing list. Also blog- post there that you are looking for a CT, and post here that you have a freebie for folks on your blog, saying also thatyou will be looking for a ct. It will draw folks in so they can see your designs and decide if they want to apply.

4. Most teams are paid in product. If they work on a special project, like a mini album or calendar, cd or quick pages, then you would pay them a percentage of the profits or work something else out ahead of time with them.

5. I don't know about all sites, but SBB, SBE, 3Scrapateers, ScrapArtist, and many many others, will want you to send samples of your work and they will decide if you have met the standards needed to sell there. Many have very high standards and that is how they've stayed in business with soooooo many others to compete against. That's not to say a new designer can't get in at all, you will just have to show you really know your stuff, that your designs are a cut above, that you can offer something fresh. Other sites are primarily for new designers. YOu will have to shop around and find out which are which.

Good luck to you!!! Design design design and you will just keep getting better and then promote, promote, promote!
