Fonts for commercial use?

How can I find out if a font is availble for commercial use - to use when making alphas for kits, etc. I have several favorites, but I have done searches and I cannot find info on them - only download sites. Is there anywhere I can get a list of a few commercial use fonts?

Thanks in advance
Teriann

I did use google - but I was checking commercial use for specific fonts. Instead of looking for commercial fonts in general.
Thanks for all the help

What are the fonts you're looking at?

Have you tried looking at the font info on the font when you have it in your font viewer? That should give you the information or at least a name and or email address to start looking.

Try searching on myfonts.com for the font your interested in using, they can tell you the font maker and contact details.

I've downloaded some free fonts and then after some time, years in fact, decided that I wanted to use some of them commercially. So I found the font maker and contacted them and most often they were happy to let me use the font free of charge.

Always best to contact them first and be safe rather than sorry.

Good luck.
