If you are using a third party file sharing site you can delete the links if you saved the "delete" link you got when you uploaded. I know Rapidshare.de supplies delete links. Yousendit expires automatically after 25 or 50 downloads.

you should be able to move the file or delete it from the ftp and the link will no longer be valid

There could be some sort of scripting available on the web for free like Javascript or Dynamic HTML.

There is a program called Download Warrior , I found it by googling "make links expire"

Well the easiest way to ensure

that the content you want to "expire" expires is to use a content management system of some sort. Depending on your skills and whatnot, this might not be a feasible option.

Another way is to make a "page" expire is to put it into the META tags of the page. It would make that page expire, so whatever you wanted to expire should be on that page. It forces the browser to search for a newer version of the page. You can do a google search on meta-tag expiration and find something I am sure. I know that webdeveloper.com has brief explaination on use of meta-tags. Then again, it might not be what you are wanting, either.

There might be a way to do it with scripting.

I will be using the CMS myself. I have never personally done the META tag version, so I am not sure what the fine details are on it.

Not 100% sure yet

I am not 100% sure yet. All of this is still up in the air for now. I am working on a couple of sites for a web design client that will hopefully go live this summer sometime (one is a redesign of their current site) and we're doing this using Joomla. It is ok. My biggest complaint is that it isn't super web-standard compliant, but it does do the dirty job. Since this project will contain tons of articles and pictures, as well as serving up videos and whatnot, Joomla seems to fit the bill for us. The price is right at any rate. Of course, the learning curve is not the smallest. The process is longer for us as I am the most advanced on the team, so I have to decide if it is something that I can "easily" explain to my other design partner as far as designing for the CMS system.

I am actually still researching. I haven't done any in the last 4 months or so. It is time to start the process again and see if there is anything better out there. I am thinking my digi-scrapping site/store will be a good way to try one out. I just need to find the time.
