I am curious- I had posted a question about using power point to do pretty much this same idea. But then now I wonder- can power point do a 'fluid' slide show? or do you always have to hit 'next' to show each slide/photo?

You can have a fluid show with powerpoint. In powerpoint you can set up a timer for each slide and do different transitions as well! even add music to powerpoint too! The last couple of years, after I spend a week at an outdoor camp with my 6th graders, I spend the weekend putting the 200 plus photos I take into a slideshow to show them when we get back.. they love it!

I've never really played with changing the size.. I usually just dump them from camera to computer and plug into the powerpoint. Hadn't really thought about changing the size.

There is actually a program called photoshow by simplestar that lets you make little photo slide shows with music. It has music in it or you can upload your own, it also has clip art and special effects. It is very similar to windows movie maker but way better. There is a free demo download on their website just google photoshow. You can burn the shows to DVD and E-mail them but not with the demo.
