Does any body have an ebay store?

I make custom bookmarks and Christmas ornaments using a person's name and turning it into a unique one-of-a-kind design. For the last few years when I've given them as gifts, the response has often been that I should market them. One recipient even told me she would be happy to pay at least $15 for one of my Christmas ornaments.

Since I have resonable photoshop skills, I even thought of making the custom design into a brush or an element and selling them in that format to digital scrappers who could then use them on pages or to make their own ornaments/bookmarks. I have no idea what a resonable cost might be for that format.

It was suggested that I open an ebay storefront to sell them.

Does anyone have any experience with an ebay storefront? Easy to use? Profitiable?....or is there another avenue that might be more productive?

Any information and/or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

I used to sell handmade tiki bar signs on eBay but never actually opened a store there because there was no need to. I just put the signs up for auction and, for the most part, they sold within a week. Before you spend the money on a store, I'd suggest selling the bookmarks and ornaments that way on eBay.

As for your brushes or elements for digital scrappers, I never look at eBay for digital scrapbooking downloads. Maybe others do. I would think you'd be more successful with your digital scrapbooking elements and brushes if you a) sold them in an established consignment store or b) opened your own digital scrapbooking Web site and promoted it well.

Are you an eBay member now? Have you gone to an eBay class, taken the ebay tutorial or researched your product? If not, I'd hang around on ebay for a while and see whats available and what people are setting their prices at. You'll also need to research the current listing fees and such that you will be charged. If you're just getting started, I wouldn't open an Ebay Store. I'd just list your item and see how it goes. Just go to eBay and type in personalized. You'll come to a page that shows all types of groups. You'll notice specailty services amoung others. There are also listings under custom bookmarks and personalized christmas ornaments. My sister has purchased custom birthday bookmarks and a ton of other personalized stuff off of ebay: birthday posters, personalized embrodered sweaters for little ones, website building services, rubber stamps, painted tiles, I could go on and on.

As far as the brushes and elements, I'd have to agree with Kathryn about selling those on ebay. But you could always list and see how it goes. If the demand is on that site, you'll find out and can go from there. Good luck.
