Same as you would make a normal page for yourself actually, make it in layers, add pictures even if you please, and before merging all layers, you select the photo part, and trim it out of every layer that is UNDERneath your photo layer till the bottom. Make sure the bottom layer is transparent after deleting the photo. Delete the photo, now you can merge all layers and save as a png file

hehehe, you'll likely get hooked!
I'll bet that no quick page can possibly be bad. Every quick page can be even more customized once you get everyone's because you can add more elements to suit your taste.
A quick page is a great pallet to get ya started. So feel free to do something simple and basic. Or go crazy and fill up the page with schtuffs!
This is turning out to be one great collection of pages.

I feel stupid but...I'm following the photoshop instructions to create the transparent zones for the pictures (I'm using Photoshop CS2), and it just won't work. I can''t figure out how to trim the layer below my white marker. *cries* Is there something that's different in the CS-models of photoshop that is messing me up, or am I just as photoshop-illiterate as I was hoping I wasn't?
Seriously, I have spent as much time CREATING the design as trying to make it a "real" QP. :-/

is your background layer white or is it the actual paper?
Oh, and upload what you have to the gallery so we can see what you have, so we'll be able to give you some advice specific to your layout.

It's the paper... That's where my issue is, isn't it? Hmm.... Going to try something.
Anyway, here's the preview of the layout: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...5429&cat=12439

the bottom layer should be transparent. so, if your bottom layer is paper, duplicate that layer, and add another transparent layer below it. If your background layer is white, just turn it off and cut all the layers above it.
Now, you can cut through all the layers and you'll eventually get to the transparent bottom.
p.s. your quick page looks great!
