I'm going to Disney World

and it's the perfect excuse for a new lens for my DRebel. I'm looking at the Tamron 24-75mm f.28. Does anyone have this lens? My plan is to put it on and leave it on through the trip. We are going in July, so I don't want to lug around a ton of stuff, but I don't know if I'll be content with my compact. Is this lens going to be enough for me for the trip.

Cool! I'm going in September. I hope that my point-and-shoot is enough.

Hi.. just some thoughts.. 24 isn't nearly wide enough on a DSLR to really get those "wide shots" that you'll want at disney.. 24 is really more of a 35mm.. you'd ideally want something like a 17 minimum. I always bring my 12-24 which lets me get those really nice wide shots. 75mm isn't bad on the long end.. that's like a 105mm... you won't be able to get the really close detail shots of the castle say.. or details far away - but it's not bad. The ideal lens for Nikon cameras is an 18-200 VR.. it gives you the wide and long in a compact lens.. and the VR takes a few stops off the not so great fstop.

Just some advice... Enjoy the trip!
