Kodak Easy Share - PSP7

I already had the second before getting the first only to find the camera is not supported directly, a blooming nuisance.

Kodak, a major player, not supported? Ridiculous.

Too late now though, so can somebody please tell me what, not too expensive, camera iS supported by PSP 7.

I am considering PSP9 if that makes a difference to your recommendation.

Thank a lot

c

Hello, I have never used the easy share in the PSP programs. Really don't know what it is suppose to do..
Hoever with PSP7 being an older program I am thinking that a lot has changed in the last 4 versions. Best bet is to ask in the corel newsgroup or read through the FAQ part of corels site..
Sorry can't help anymore then that.

Meaning!

Well, I found that I could not directly 'connect' my Kodak DX4330, via the provided cradle, with PSP7. At that time (2004) PSP were prepared to respond to email enquiries and told me, directly, that PSP does not take digital photos from Kodak, and they offered a workround which is somewhat long winded. I ended up buying MS 'Picture it' and then copy pictures from there into PSP7 one at a time.

I am not an enthusiastic photographer, more 'snapper' so I don't use the camera often at the moment.

Now that I am retired I could use it more often...but not when it means the fuss and bother mentioned.

I did have the Kodak software CD with the camera, but that was VERY restrictive I found. I eventually removed that software and used the 'Picture it' v7, as mentioned above.

If you have a secret workaround that is smarter than the one PSP offered then I would be very grateful if you could share it please?

HI!

I have a Kodak Easy Share but I do not use their software or dock. I do not like either.

I simply unload my picture to "my pictures" folder. I usually sort them into folders "family, pets, vacations" etc.

I have PSP 9 and I simply open my pictures folder and them select the picture I want and it is opened to my work space.

Where I work we use a kodak easy share also and again, I do not use their software... too confusing and too many steps .

I find using the my pictures option is easier for me! Good luck!

Another question: Which Operating System are you running?

I went from Win98SE to WinXP and I used the software that came with my camera to download photo's. I don't remember if 98 had anything else or not...?

But with XP it will automatically pop up a window where you can choose options with what you want to do with your photo's right in it and do as Tingen4 said below.

I had not thought about a software conflict. Haley64 is right.. some of the newer photo camera software will not run on 98. I ran into that problem at work when we tried to put some on an old sytem using 98.

Hello

I am using XP and I know about the MS Photo Editor, that is partly the problem.

When in PSP I use File>Import>from Scanner or Camera, the scanner wants to play, if I manage to press the camera cradle button in time ( and it is a millisecond type of timing ) then it is the *MS* photo editor that opens. I can get the photos into my pictures My Pictures of course but then is the copy one at a time to get the photos into PSP.
I did say that PSP have declared that they do not support my Kodak camera directly etc.
Tingens has it absolutely right about the 'worth' of the Kodak software, it is not the least bit helpful. Neither, I might say, I kodak support, like trying to read invisible ink in a fog is getting an answer from them.
So, what I am looking for is the answer to my original question:
Are there cameras actually support ed by PSP 7, that is, you connect the camera and PSP 7 will take/download pictures directly, without having to use intermediary software? I can always, I assume, place the retained/edited photos in My Pictures subsquently, or isn't that how it should work?
I've given up on the Kodak problem.
Thanks for your help.
