Not to sound dense.. but why would you want to do this anyway? If you connect the camera to the computer directly (not a great idea anyway since you use up batteries on the camera and the speed is so much slower - better to use a card reader) and you don't move the photos to the PC first.. you run such a chance of losing your photos. The photos on that PC card are your originals.. you should move them to your PC first to ensure they don't get corrupt.

Ok.. with that out of the way.. you might need the add'l support file that came on the original CD (or perhaps you can find them at corel - they used to be on JASC.com)... See these instructions here:

Obtaining and Installing Direct Digital Camera Support

Paint Shop Pro provides direct support for many popular digital cameras. A separate installation program for this support is included with the CD-ROM version of Paint Shop Pro. This installation program is also available for download from our Web site at www.jasc.com for customers who purchased the electronic download version of Paint Shop Pro. A list of supported cameras is also available at this location.

The CD-ROM version of Paint Shop Pro will create a Start Menu shortcut for the digital camera support installer in the Jasc Software\Utilities folder during program installation.

To install direct digital camera support, proceed as follows:

1. If you purchased an electronic download version of Paint Shop Pro, download the Jasc Software Digital Camera Support setup program.

2. Run the camera installation program by selecting the "Jasc Digital Camera Support" shortcut in the Jasc Software\Utilities folder of the Start Menu (CD-ROM version) or double clicking on the file you downloaded in step 1.

3. Select the appropriate camera from the list of available devices. By default, no cameras are selected in the setup program. To select the desired camera, click on the disk icon to display a menu of available installation options, then click the "This feature will be installed on local hard drive" option.

4. The installation program will install the necessary files for accessing the selected camera(s) and close after the installation is complete.

5. Once the desired support is installed, you can configure and access the camera using the Import>Digital Camera commands on Paint Shop Pro's File menu.

I still can't help you with which cameras are supported in PSP7! Another thing is, No one is offering camera help support or anything for PSP7 anymore.

But I do have to confess being confused over why you would want all your photo's on your camera to open at once within the psp program? I think but don't quote me on this...isn't the kodak easy share there to go along with the registered online print service that is also a long forgotten unused part of PSP? Maybe back then they figured it was easier to download all your photo's right into PSP and click on that photo sharing thingy and maybe PSP altered photo's to send to it right from within the program.

I wholeheartely agree with Pesto on this: "move the photos to the PC first.. you run such a chance of losing your photos. The photos on that PC card are your originals.. you should move them to your PC first to ensure they don't get corrupt."

I sure wouldn't trust my photo's to open first through many many of the other programs before I place my originals into a folder on my PC.

Are you going to alter them one after another right away? and then resave them, to a different folder?
Sometimes I have 80+ photo's on my camera and I sure wouldn't want to open all those photo's at once in PSP.

For me it is just as easy if not easier to download my camera photo's in My Pictures folder, and then click-shift all the photo's, right click Open to open all the photo's I wish to view in PSP.
Or another way would be the browser in PSP7.

aahh I just see pesto posted so I will stop here as I know he covered what I was saying in WAY greater detail!

Sorry you are still having trouble. I agree with Haley64 and Pesto about putting your pictures on PC first. I learned the hard way about putting them into a photoediting program first and that had a glitch and I had no pictures on software and none on my camera.

I always first download to "my pictures" and then put into folders I have already labeled so that they are easier to find.

I am still "wet behind the ears" in PSP but I use PSP 9 not 7 and I only open one or two at a time to use in PSP unless I am doing a collage type LO. I tend to lose them if I open too many so I just open what I need. I don't mean really lost when I say lose them, but I lose them on my workspace and then can't find them if I have too many

Also, make sure you make a copy of your original! You don't want to save over your original with any changes you mayhave made.

I also own a Kodak easyshare camera but am going to change soon, this one is on it's last leg. I have never used the software however, except long enough to know I did not like it.

However, I do have a cousin who uses the Kodak easyshare camera and she puts all her pictures there. She likes it BUT, she is always calling me to help her find her pictures because she can't find them in her easyshare program!

Maybe Pesto's response will help you! Don't give up!

Thanks to all of you. My initial reaction is that perhaps I have the wrong angle on this altogether.

I'll study all of your answers more closely when I am more awake than at present.

Hello again! I often found myself thinking in the wrong direction many times in the past until someone enlighten and showed me the more correct way of thinking! lol

I know for myself I thought I knew what I should know and how it should work...then after many times and painful explainations I realized my direction was totally off course from where it should have been.

Since you have PSP7, which is an older version by far then what is available now, how did you used to download photo's into your older computer?

PSP has never supported my olympus brand cameras so I never was allowed to use it and instead had to rely upon the software the camera came with....thankfully it isn't too bad with olympus!
But I sure do love the new XP ability to understand every camera I plug into it (I don't have the media card port on my machine) so this way I can download photo's from all (4) of my childrens cameras and my own and none of them are the same brands!

PLEASE come back and let us know what you have decided to do!!

HI Cheese
It looks like you have had some great answers. I would agree and recommend that you should alwasy save your photos to your hard drive first and you can do that either by transferring direct using your camera's USb or using a card reader (recommended because then you save on battery life)
The process is very simple - if you need it there is a step by step visual tutorial here on using XP to transfer and save images
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u.../transfer.mspx
You might also like to take a look at the articles here http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...index_58.shtml and here http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...index_57.shtml
that discuss some other relevant topics.
Sorry that we could not be more specifically helpful with the PSP question but I hope this helps

Fine...awake now, my thoughts of yesterday evening hold good.

I didn't understand fully what I was doing, it is clear that I would do well to follow the collective guidance you have offered, so, that's what I will do.

Thank you very much, I'm very grateful for your forbearance.
