Canon or Sony...

Iam having a hard time here! I dont know how, but I've talked my husband into getting me another camera! I currently have a Casio Exilim Z-55 and its got to go! So on Thursday we went looking..I've found two I REALLY like and in our price range..What's driving me crazy though is I dont know which to get? The first camera I looked at and held was the Canon PowerShot S3 IS 6mp..There wasnt anything about this camera I didnt like...Next was the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5.. Its 7mp with the 12x optical zoom...Has anyone had any experience with either camera? Should I automatically go with the Sony Cybershot because its a higher MP?

One of the MOST IMPORTANT things Iam looking for in a camera is the ability to take action shots without them being blurred or ruined in anyway..With the Casio Iam always telling my girls to "sit still" and "dont move" just to capture "the perfect picture"....Any advice would be greatly apperciated!!

Wow, I am a Canon girl myself. I have never been disappointed with any of my Canon camera shots - whether they have been film or digital (unless I have made some silly mistakes). Having said that a friend of mine bought a Sony 10X optical zoom 5 MP and lent it to me for a day (so that I could let him and his wife know how to use it) and I must admit it was a very nice camera but I guess I am still a Canon girl.

Canon here all the way. I haven't used that particular camera but I did have a Canon Powershot S50 that my DD is now using and it still takes great pics. Sony? Well, they are just plain evil in my opinion. The company this is. Can't tell you about their products since I don't use them.

Canon without a doubt.. the Sony cameras have had major recall problems lately.. not a good sign. I have the Canon S2 and love it for what it is - great video, quality photos.. it does what it does well.

Not sure if you have one near you.. but Office Depot has the S3 for $399 with an instant 20% off! I just purchased a powershot SD800 for a bargain! And other stores nearby will price match and beat that price by 10% saving you more money.. for $300 or so.. you can't go wrong with the S3! Good Luck!

I took these today both UN edited and both compressed for web the same.... The first one is with my Sony and the second with my canon rebel the Sony was about 1/3 the cost of the canon.

I have had several Cameras more Olympus than any other brand
I didn't think this little camera was going to be very good but I was very happy to say it's great for the cost.
