Tips for Fireworks Photos?

Can anyone give a novice some tips on taking GREAT fireworks photos? I have a Nikon D50 and very little knowledge of the technical side, but can follow directions! LOL. Anyway, TIA!

All you need to know:
1) Used a good Triod
2) Use ISO 400
3) Use F8 or F11
4) Use a 4-6 second shutter speed
5) Use a remote shutter release
6) Timing is everything..

Good luck with these.. they are challenging but can be tons of fun if done right!

We got some great ones using the night setting on our camera. You do need to hold very still, but we didn't use a tripod. Also, after the fact, I up-ed the saturation in photoshop to get a nice vibrant color. See examples at my blog (below). Out of 20 or so shots we got about 5 good ones. Experiment!
