Tip for taking photos of children?
Tell me your all time favorite photography tip for taking photos of children
 How do YOU get them to sit when you want to do a photo shoot? i know my kids just dont listen to me and when i try to get a shot of both of them togehter.... its a nightmare..LOL one of them ends up hitting the other and i end up just giving up

Now that my ds is 3 1/2, if I have to I bribe him
Give him something to look forward to if he sits and smiles for the pictures. Or make funny faces to make him laugh. Try using something they want to do as a bribe, it might just work

Lots of pics, many times.
Give them props to sit and play with. Take more 'natural' shots and not as many 'formal' ones. Keep clickin'!~G

I totally 2nd what Gina (Crafttealady) said....if you take 15 pics you may not get any that are "decent" but if you take 30, you might get 5?!....
I have 3 kids and it is VERY rare (like MAYBE one time a season) that I get a decent one of all 3... I have even extracted my daughter and PUT her in one where both boys looked ok....b/c she is 21 months, so even if they are looking at me and smiling..she rarely is... Happy Snappin!

You can try bribing with money or candy lol... but better (and cheaper) if you learn to "catch" them. Sneak up on them, or when they think you're finished shooting and playing with your cards, but you then quickly look up and catch them. The other thing is to get them doing something they love or maybe even something they aren't normally allowed to do. but in all honesty, it takes time to learn to see the moments and that typically takes lots and lots of clicks -- besides the expressions you capture when you're bribing or forcing them never seem to come out that great anyway (for me). good luck!

Get them to scream - they think its hilarious and you can catch a few great expressions and grins

yup -- I bribe them them AND have them scream their heads off! Sometimes, I use dh to do funny and silly stuff behind me. the kids look at him and break into gales of laughter

I haven't tried the screaming thing...Maybe THAT will work since nothing else has! Thanks for the ideas, ladies!
