Photo Editing, is this the spot?

Okay, I need some tips on how to edit a couple pictures. They're great shots but one's too dark with a strange glow and one has a glare. Any tips on how to fix either of them? I use PSPX as a photo editor and usually do a pretty good job, but these ones are giving me trouble. Both photos are in my gallery: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...=11752&ppuser=

The bubble photo is a loss.. not much you can do now..try using a polarizing filter on your lens next time and/or shooting from a different angle.

The darkness on the other photo can be fixed via some curves/levels.. the yellow cast is due to lack of flash/light.. you should use a lower fstop to let more light into the camera.

Here is a quick fix...

Lots of useful info. Thank you! I'm just beginning with both the camera AND Paint Shop, so some of it is a little foreign to me What are curves?

curves is a tool that allows you to compensate for the dynamic ranges within the image.. you should look into a few books and go to radiantvista.com for some detailed discussion on photo editing.. you have a nice camera - but taking the pictures is only 10% of the puzzle. With digital, you have some much latitude and ability to produce better shots.. you owe it to yourself to learn how. By the way.. you should try using RAW... it would have been simple to fix the above photos in RAW. good luck!

Burning might help on the bubble a bit - increase the contrast and color saturation slightly then use the burn tool on the reflection.
Heres a tut about levels and curves in PSP that may be helpful http://www.khiba.com/PSP/Spring02/42502.htm
