Red face Photography Question - Stock Photos

Anyone consider or currently selling any of their work as stock photos or some other way? I would like to increase my skills and try to make a living from home selling my artwork as well as my photographs. I would appreciate any input that you have. I love taking pictures and graphic design, so I know that I could put in the hard work and hours.

If you do sell your photography, who do you go through? I see quite a few websites online and would like to know which ones are reputable.

Thanks,
Amy

I have considered it, but it is my understanding that it is a really tough market to break into and to make any money at. But a great book/resource for selling your photos is the 2005 Photographer's Market. I got mine at Barnes and Noble but you could probably find it online too.

There is at least one site (and probably more) that lets you sell your photos on line. Fotolia is the one my friend who is french uses however it is a french site. Maybe they'll have one in english someday.

She has found crafts fairs to be a good selling place. In fact that's how I met her - my booth was next to hers. I can tell you from experience that selling at fairs is time consuming since you have to be there all day. It can be a good way to judge if there is any interest in your photos.
