Unhappy RAW Setting on Canon 300 D EOS

I'm missing something. I finally decided to set my camera to capture the images in RAW. When I go to my image capture settins on my camera I see the settings for Large, Medium and Small, but I don't see anything specific to RAW.

I checked the usre manual, and according to what I read there I should see one more selection.

What am I missing? Is there somewhere else to look?

You can only select RAW in the "creative modes" -- are you still in one of the auto modes? Try switching over to AV and see if you can change it then.

That did it, Jennifer! Boy I looked everywhere in the manual and it never specified. So, here's dumb Q#2...

Does this mean I am only taking pictures in RAW where I'm in the creative modes?

LOL I've only just started moving out of the auto modes and going into the scarry creative modes.

Yup. If you set it to raw in a creative mode, it will automatically go back to jpg when you switch to auto.
