Nevermore, congrats on your new digital camera. I was intimidated with my camera at first too, but I took it slow and forced myself to get it out and practice with it everyday. I am still learning but I am much more comfortable and confident when I use it now. These challenges are here to inspire us to try something different and I hopefully have fun and learn something new along the way. Glad to have you jump on the challenge wagon!

I really like taking the weekly and monthly challenges (even though I've been out of touch lately), but I was also wondering if we could step it up a bit. I want to learn from my photographs, from their strenghts and weaknesses. Is it possible to have those in charge critique the photos that are put in the gallary, or is that just too much work? I am hungry for feedback on how I can improve.

Thanks for the encouragement. So far, I have read. A lot. I really have to take more pictures! I tried to do a backlit one but (cough) so so so backlit you can't see the person at all without mega levels and curves work in PS. Back to the drawing board!

Here is my first attempt at a photo challenge. I just got a new camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-H1) which I am loving very much despite not knowing it's full capabilities yet.
