I really liked using Photo Editor 4, but it had some quirks to it that sometimes made things more difficult- like using psd templates. But the changes ACDSee has made make this program run perfectly for scrapbookers. It is so easy to use!
If you are looking at some new scrapping software- you have to give this one a shot.

I have really been finding that Photo Editor 2008 is a grea program to scrap with. It is easy enough for beginners but is also full of neat features for more advanced scrappers. I scrap with Photo Editor 4 (previously) as well as with CS2, and I find that my lo's with PE 2008 and CS2 are of the same level of design.
If you want to check out some info on the new features and a few video tut's using this program, read here : ACDSee Photo Editor 2008 Beta

ACDsee if once again flexing their muscles and really coming on strong as a real contender. As I've mentioned before, I've been giving the Pro 2 software a real consideration and it is very very good. Some real problems still exist and their are some significant holes for the pro photographer (Pro - hence the title of the software). But I'd recommend Pro2/v10.0 and the editor over PSP now any day... PSP have moved backwards while ACD are bringing their products forward.

That's a generous trial period and a great marketting idea...

Pesto- ACDSee (The company) has really been making a huge effort to listen to the scrapbooking community. Just the changes they have added so far in 2008 vs PE 4 are incredible. yes, there are some bugs but that is what a preview/beta is about. And they are accepting any suggestions we have and will see if it is possible to incorporate them into the final product.
I am pushing for the ability to create presets for drop shadows

I just downloaded this and it's really user friendly. In some ways it's laid out a lot like Photoshop Elements and in others it really reminds me of DIP. I love the way that shadows are done too. I'm going to give it a go and will be writing a review too.

Hi Pesto,
I've read the challenges that you've described over at the product forum. Let me know when you're ready for help from development (I know that you were experimenting with your database). You can pm me here, at the ACDSee forum or email me at cbensen@acdsee.com

And thank you for the recognition that 'ACDSee is bringing their products forward.' We working on it!

I've been scrapping witgh the older photo editor for over 6 months and since then I never looked back at my PSP X. I just downloaded the 2008 beta and since then I'm in heaven! The old editor already had some awsome features such as: eaily apply text on a path or vignette to a photo, make groups of lets say alpha's and resize or recolor them all at once and so much more. The new beta has this fabulous feature were you can use templates and this has realy amazed me!!

You should try it and Heidi from digiscrapinfo had made some awsome videos!!
