Hi - you can find some gImp tutorials for scrapbooking here
http://www.scrapbooksgonedigital.com/TUTORIALS/

PSE is a great scrap program.
If its an organising program like Album is you are after then I recommend ACDsee organiser. You can learn more here http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/a-tut...index_59.shtml

PSPX2 would be a lot better then using PSP Album 6 as that really isn't a digital imaging program like the other programs are.

I'd have to second this. I have been a PSP and Photoshop user for years on end, and truly prefer my PSPX2 over Photoshop. I am lazy in the aspect of if there is a simpler way I will do it.

I must say... I love open source software and love the fact that many of the programs are free but very advanced (ie: open office, gimp).. but I could just not get used to the Gimp - the UI is strange and it just feels "wrong" when I compare it to the elegance that is Phototshop CS3... If you can't afford CS2/CS3, then I'd certainly suggest PSP over Album/Elements...
