I've had to remove photoshop from my work computer, so I put Gimp on instead. I so need help! How do i do the equivalent of adding drop shadows, beveling - all those options on the 'layer effects' bit of photoshop?

Its going to take me forever to make a simple little icon at this rate!

I don't use GIMP but have a friend who does. She said that there should be an option across the top called script-fu then just scroll down to drop shadow. She said that's where all the effects are. I hope that helps!

Never heard of it so I can't be much help there, but I do sympathize. I just switcheed from DIP to Photoshop Elements - I'm still fumbling around, but getting a little faster.

Yep, it's in Script-fu. For drop shadows go to Shadow>Drop Shadow, and for bevels go to Decor>Add Bevel
