Hello,

I have aquired so many things that I am now considering buying ACDsee to organize everything. My question is this: I have Vista, can I run the 8.0 version or do I have to buy the new 9.0? Also, I have everything on seperate discs right now and am planning on buying an EHD, should I wait to organize everything in ACDsee until I get the EHD or can I go ahead and start it now and convert everything over to the EHD?

Karie, I can answer the first part of your question, as I have a Dell XPS with Vista. The version 9.0 that just came out is Vista certified and I am using the trial version right now and it is running great! I love it!

Since I am new at it, I will let the experts answer the rest of your question!

I've seen a Vista update that makes it compatible with ACDSee v.8. You can try that first if you'd like.

And if you're going to get an EHD, I would suggest using the discs as photodiscs now - and you could start cataloging. Then when you're ready with your EHD, just shift those files to the EHD. My sister can help you get the database to transfer. It shouldn't be a problem at all.

Awesome stuff...I wondered whether it was compliant and i have just got 9. acdsee. Now all i have to do is organise it all. LOL
