Another ACDSee ?....

Hey yall.....I hate to be such a bother, but I have a couple more questions.

1) When I installed the program I had not downloaded the "Getting Started with ACDSee Photo Manager" tut from DigiScrapInfo. com and when it asked me if it should Catalog my Files I let it. In the meantime, I am going through my folders and making some changes (kind of like cleaning out my closets)...will it just pick up the changes since I have cataloged them into ACDSee?

2) My new PC has a large hard drive, so I am copying all of my kits that are on CDs to it and when I let it "Catalog my Files" those items were not on my computer. Do I need to have ACDSee "Catalog my Files" again or does it do it automatically once I have told it where to look for the files I want in ACDSee. On my PC, that is C:/Pam/Documents/Digital Scrapbooking. Mine might be a little different because my OS is Vista.

I hope I am making sense in my questions...if not let me know and I will try another route!

Thanks, so much, for your patience!

It will pick up the changes at this point but it would not do so had you tagged items etc If you are going to move or delete tagged items you need to do them within ACDSee

>so I am copying all of my kits that are on CDs to it and when I let it "Catalog my Files" those items were not on my computer<
It should pick up the new images but it depends on your setup - as long as they are on your main harddrive though (not an external) it should see the additions automatically (though you may need to restart ACDSee if you were adding the kits while Acdsee was still open)

I understand that I can go ahead now and "clean my closets" because I have not yet "tagged" my items, but AFTER I "tag" them I must then make any changes in ACDSee. Thank you so much for your help!

Here's a thread to read if you're interested in 'cleaning closets'.

Thanks Connie......I bookmarked it and I am going to print it out. I have been printing all your tuts and putting them in a binder for future reference!
