Oh, thank you so much for the links to the tutorials. I know they will be really useful. I have a question about ACDSee. May be answered somewhere in the tuta but I haven't read them all yet.

I downloaded the trial and so far it seems really easy. I have named my catagories and begun the process of dragging my elements into the proper catagories. Is that all I have to do? No keywording? Just drag and drop?

Also, assuming I am doing this right, I have dropped all my kits into their proper places. I have them organized by color. Now, can I go into each kit and drag the elements into their proper catagories also? You know, like drag the ribbons into the ribbon catagory, the tags into its catagory? Then when I search for ribbon it will pull all ribbon I have in the kits and also in my ribbon folder? Does this make sense??

Thanks

Tagging is much easier in ACDSee. You can just drag the category name onto the thumbnails. In DSR you had to type the keywords in every time. It was very time consuming typing in "background" over and over.

Ok, I have another question about ACDSee. I was going through a tutorial about catagorizing previews. I followed it and made a preview folder and put all my previews in it. The tutorial then said to go to the preview folder and open it. So now all the little previews are there. Then it said something about now you would have a COLOR LIST and you can put the previews in by color. I don't see a COLOR LIST. Do I have to make one? If so where do I do that?

Thanks from a frustrated

Just make a new category called Colors and then make sub categories for each color.

The one problem with using the image basket is that when you close the software, it forgets what was in there.

But - if you put things into the burn basket - then it keeps things in there when you reopen the software. Go under View | Burn Basket to open it... and just slide things in as you use them.

Does the program come with multiple liscences (Oh I just can't spell today)? Meaning can I use it on my laptop and my desktop, or do I have to buy to copies? I'm really considering buying it so I want to know what to expect.

Yes, ACDSee allows a purchased license to run on up to 3 of your personal computers.
