Passage Express

Does anyone have any experience with this program?
www.passageexpress.com

It's Multimedia Presentation Software - looks like the potential to be an interactive scrapbook - I love that you can poise on someone's face, and have a pop-up tell you who it is. And include sound bytes.

I'm thinking of making a project of the past soccer season, and giving a cd to each member on the team - much cheaper than printing out scrapbooks for each member....

Do you know of any other program that does anything similar?

Thank you -

It looks ok for what it is.. but I think it is overpriced and you can certainly find other programs to do the same. I'll check around and let you know... It basically is just a simple slideshow creator with a pretty menu.

Passage Express

I think it's different from a slide show since it's interactive.
Mostly I like the Face Label feature
Let me know what else you find that is similar - I'd like to know

Ok.. here some alternatives that do similar things:
http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-photo-animations.htm
http://www.dvd-photo-slideshow.com/s...-software.html

of course, you can also use most FLASH software to do the same thing to. Good luck!

Alternatives

Thanks, but neither of these programs have the feature that I'm looking for (which Passage Express does have), and they are comparably priced. So I think I'll puruse Passage Express.

(The feature I'm looking for is called image mapping, I believe. I want to be able to poise the cursor over someone's face, and have a little label come up identifying them as Mary or Tom or Dick)

Yeah... it is kinda aneat thing and that program isn't too bad for what it does. Just to note.. you can do this yourself if you know just a little bit of HTML.. the image over is the ALT text for the IMG link.. But - the nice DVD menu etc is good.. good luck!

HTML - Image mapping

Yes, from the research I've been doing, that's what I hear - that it's fairly easy to write this application using HTML.

Unfortunately, that's Greek to me, as I don't know any HTML, but I think my teen daughter might.

But, I don't understand how I'd integrate a script of HTML into Photoshop Elements.... I mean, I don't want to use the image mapping on a website. I want to use it when viewing photos within Photoshop Album.....

I'm thinking that it may be more feasible if I upgrade my daughter's Photoshop to CS, and then we'll have Bridge (which seems to organize more details about the photos than Album does) and we'll also probably have scripting ability....

I dunno what I'm muttering about!

Take a look at http://www.memorymixer.com/ I know it has a lot of features and they are flying off the shelves at my work. It is worth a look.
