Question How do you do a complete backup on PC's....

Ok, so I am a Mac person, which = totally CLUELESS on a PC! It just occured to me that I have not been backing up my pc. How do you do a complete mirror backup of your internal hard drive to an external one on a PC? Can it be done? I would like to have a bootable backup if possible.

Thanks for any help!

If you go to Start-all Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Back Up, a wizard will pop up to help you set the conditions for the back up. You need to have a external drive that is as large as the material you are backing up. Just be sure to check the box to back up PROGRAMS and files. There should also be a scheduler available so this can be done automatically each day. If you want to do it manually you can just drag you
C-drive onto the external drive. If that won't work, let me know and I bet you can create a folder under the C-Drive call it "Everything" and just drag and drop everything into that folder. Then drag that folder to the external drive using Explorer.

Hope that all makes sense...

Thank you so much for this Colleen!!!!
I've been wanting to do this on a daily basis and just never took the time to look into it.

I just set it up for 4:45 every morning.

Anybody else who has not done this take my word for it-you need to back up. My external drive just crashed and I lost all my pictures, kits, downloaded kits, scrapbook pages, business records, etc! Estimate to recover the information $4900-$7900, if they recover it and $200 just to try! This happened two days ago and I am still sick to my stomach and have cried my eyes out!
